Terms of Service for tiviTea
Effective date: 29 October 2026.
These terms are the agreement between you and tiviTea (“we”, “us”) for using tivitea.africa and our apps for Android and iOS (together, “tiviTea”). tiviTea is for people in Nigeria and prices are in naira (₦). Please read them before you sign up. By creating an account or using tiviTea, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
1. About these terms
tiviTea is a marketplace. It connects customers with partners (who list co-working spaces, work tools and items for sale) and with artisans (who offer services). We provide the platform, the booking and payment tools and the messaging. Unless a page says otherwise, we do not own or run the spaces, tools, items or services listed, and we do not do the work an artisan does. The rental, the purchase or the job itself is between the people involved.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to make a binding agreement to use tiviTea.
- Give true and current information, and keep it up to date. One person can hold a customer, a partner and an artisan account, and switch between them.
- Customers and artisans must complete identity verification (KYC) before they can use the dashboard. Partners must complete it before they can add listings. We may ask for more information or documents at any time.
- You are responsible for your password and for everything done through your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
- Do not let anyone else use your account, and do not create accounts to get around a suspension or a limit.
3. Booking spaces, renting tools and hiring artisans
Only customer accounts can book a space, rent a tool or hire an artisan.
- Bookings and rentals. A booking is not confirmed until it is paid for. An unpaid booking stays a draft. Once it is paid you get an e-ticket with a QR code. The partner scans it to check you in and out, so keep it to yourself and show it only to the partner.
- Availability and times. You can only book times a listing shows as open. Arrive and return on time. Keep the space or tool in the condition you found it, and use it only as the listing describes.
- Caution fee. Some listings ask for a refundable caution fee, shown before you pay. Whether you get all of it back depends on how the space or tool is returned. If you think a deduction is wrong, write to us.
- Cancelling. You can cancel a booking from your dashboard. Whether you get money back, and how much, depends on the booking and the listing’s terms at the time. Write to us if you think a refund is due.
- Hiring an artisan. You ask an artisan for a quotation. The quotation, and any offer or counter-offer in it, records what you and the artisan agree. When the work is finished, confirm it in your dashboard. Check the artisan’s work and reviews yourself; we do not guarantee their skill or the result.
- Reviews. After a booking or a job you can leave a review. Keep it honest and about your own experience.
4. Listing as a partner or artisan
- Everything you post must be true and up to date: the description, pictures, price, amenities, availability, address and, for tools, whether a foot soldier hands the tool over.
- You must have the right to offer what you list, and the right to use the pictures and text you upload.
- A new listing starts as a draft. It is shown to the public only once it has been published; we may review, ask you to change, refuse or remove any listing.
- Honour the bookings and quotations you accept. Check customers in and out through the e-ticket, and look after the customers and property in your care.
- You are responsible for your own licences, taxes, insurance and for obeying the laws that apply to what you offer. Artisans work for themselves and are not our employees or agents.
- Foot soldiers you add to your account are people you choose and are responsible for. Make sure you may share their details with us and that they agree to being paid into the bank account you give.
5. The marketplace
- Partners and artisans can sell items on the marketplace. Customers can buy them.
- Sellers must describe an item truthfully (including its condition: new, good or second-hand), keep stock correct and only list items they are allowed to sell. Items that are illegal, stolen, counterfeit, dangerous or banned by law may not be listed.
- You place an order from your cart and pay for it before it is processed. The order total is the items plus the delivery fees shown at checkout.
- tiviTea arranges the delivery of marketplace orders. A seller does not need to, and should not, deliver an order themselves.
6. Payments, fees and withdrawals
- Payments are made in naira through Paystack, a payment service we use. We do not see or store your card details. Paystack’s own terms apply to the payment itself.
- The price, any service charge, foot soldier charge and caution fee are shown before you pay and are included in the total you are charged. We may charge a fee for using tiviTea, and we will show it to the person it applies to.
- Partners and artisans are paid into a wallet in their account. To withdraw, you first set a transaction PIN and verify the bank account you want to be paid into. Keep the PIN secret; withdrawals made with it are treated as yours. We may delay or hold a withdrawal if we need to check it, for example because of a dispute, a refund or a suspected fraud.
- If you are charged by mistake, or something went wrong with a payment, write to us at once with the details and we will look into it.
7. How you must behave
When you use tiviTea, do not:
- break any law, or help anyone else to;
- post anything false, misleading, threatening, abusive, discriminatory or sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else’s rights;
- pretend to be another person or business, or use another person’s identity documents or bank account;
- arrange or take payment outside tiviTea for a booking, order or job that began on tiviTea, to avoid our fees or protections;
- use chat or quotations to send spam, scams or unwanted advertising;
- try to break, overload or get into tiviTea, its accounts or its data, or use bots or scrapers to copy it, without our written permission;
- upload viruses or any file that is not what it claims to be.
8. What you post
You keep the rights to the pictures, videos, text and reviews you post. By posting them on tiviTea you give us permission to store, show, resize and share them on the website and apps, and in the ways we need to run and promote the service, for as long as they are on tiviTea. You promise you have the right to give this permission. We may remove content that breaks these terms. The tiviTea name, logo and design belong to us.
9. Our responsibility
- We work to keep tiviTea running and accurate, but we do not promise that it will always be available, error-free or that every listing, price or review is correct. We may change or pause parts of it.
- Because the spaces, tools, items and services are provided by partners, sellers and artisans, we are not responsible for their quality, safety or legality, or for what they or other users do or fail to do. Take care when you meet people and when you hand over or collect property.
- As far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss that was not caused by our own failure, or for indirect loss such as lost profit or lost business, and our total liability to you for any one claim is limited to the amount you paid through tiviTea for the booking, order or job it concerns.
- Nothing in these terms limits a right you have under Nigerian law that cannot be limited, including your rights as a consumer.
- If you break these terms and that causes us a loss or a claim, you agree to compensate us for it to the extent the law allows.
10. Suspending or closing an account
You can stop using tiviTea at any time and delete your account in Settings, or by following the steps on our account deletion page. Bookings, orders and payments already made are still yours and the other person’s to settle. We may suspend or close an account, remove a listing or hold a payout if you break these terms, if we think an account is being used for fraud or harm, if we must by law, or if the account has been inactive for a long time. Where we can, we will tell you why. The parts of these terms that by their nature should continue (for example payment, content, liability and the governing law) continue after your account ends.
11. The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If we cannot settle a problem by talking, either of us may take it to the courts of Nigeria. Please write to us first so we can try to put it right.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will tell you about important changes through the website, the apps or by email. The date at the top shows when they took effect. If you keep using tiviTea after a change, you accept it. If you do not accept it, stop using tiviTea and delete your account.
